Biographie
Professeur d'histoire de l'art et de l'architecture a l'Universite d'Harvard,
Alina Payne **** est actuellement directeur de la Villa I Tatti - The Harvard
Center for Italian Renaissance Studies. Elle est l'auteur de _The
Architectural Treatise in the Italian Renaissance: Architectural Invention,
Ornament and Literary Culture_ (1999) et de _From Ornament to Object._ _Modern
Architecture and the Rise of a Theory of Objects_ (a paraitre). Elle est aussi
editrice de _Known_ (2000) et co-editrice de _Antiquity and Its Interpreters_
(2000). Elle travaille actuellement a l'edition de trois volumes d'essais :
_Vision and Its Instruments_ ; _Portable Archaeology and the Poetics of
Influence: Croatia and the Mediterranean_ ; et _Compact Artefacts: Triumphal
Arches and the Paragone between the Arts_. Elle a ete recompensee en 2006 par
le Prix de la recherche en sciences humaines Max Planck et Alexander von
Humboldt.
